Ellen

Ellen Davis, Minister

The Reverend Ellen Davis was fully ordained as a Unity minister on April 30, 2006.  Prior to that, Ellen served as Spiritual Leader of Unity Church of Denton (now Unity Church of New Hope) which she and her late husband, the Reverend Dean Davis began in 1986 in Denton, Texas.

Ellen left the church for a 10 year hiatus in which she owned and operated a bookstore in Branson, Missouri.  A series of events led Ellen and Dean back to Unity where she returned to her Denton roots to again lead the church in 1999, continuing the tedious process toward becoming a fully ordained minister through the Association of Unity Churches in the Field Licensing Program.  Ellen has successfully led the church from a meager membership and attendance in 1999 to the prospering and active membership it enjoys today.

Widowed in 2004, Ellen has two children and four incredible grandchildren.  She actively meditates, loves to travel, practices yoga and enjoys daily walks.  Reading a variety of books and studying spiritual issues are Ellen's lifelong passions.  She has a BA degree from the Texas Technological University in Lubbock, Texas in Latin American Area Studies.

Basic Unity Principles

There is only one Presence and one Power active as the universe and as my life, God the Good.

Our essence is of God; therefore, we are inherently good. This God essence was fully expressed in Jesus, the Christ.

We are co-creators with God, creating reality through thoughts held in mind.

Through prayer and meditation, we align our heart-mind with God. Denials and affirmations are tools we use.

Through thoughts, words and actions, we live the Truth we know.
